1. Walk, Don't Run
Running makes footstep noise that enemies hear. Press Shift to walk silently when flanking or holding.
2. Counter-Strafe Before Shooting
Moving ruins accuracy. Press the opposite direction key (e.g., D while moving A) to stop instantly before firing.
3. Crosshair Placement
Keep your crosshair at head level and pre-aimed at common angles. Most fights are won before you see the enemy.
4. Buy the Right Weapon
If your team has $16000+, buy a rifle. If you have less than $2000, save (no buy) and rely on pistols next round.
5. Listen for Sound Cues
Footsteps, bomb plants, reloads — sound tells you where enemies are and what they're doing. Use headphones.
6. Communicate Callouts
Use "long A", "tunnels", "mid" — learn map callouts. Even one word saves a round.
7. Practice on Aim Maps
Before every competitive session, warm up on aim_ak-colt or aim_map for 5-10 minutes.
8. Don't Peek Without a Plan
Before you peek an angle, decide: one shot and back off? Full spray through? Wait for a flash? Commit to the plan.
9. Watch Your Radar
The radar shows teammate positions. Rotate to support them, avoid running into 1v3 situations.
10. Have Fun
CS 1.6 has a steep learning curve. Don't stress losses — every death is a lesson. Play casually until mechanics click.
